Who Will Be My Hero?

This video was produced by students from Waxahachie Independent School District, TX, and the questions it asks are ones for teachers to consider. Thought I would share it with you for reactions.

The video was released just 4 days ago on YouTube and has had over 4,700 views as of today.

  1. Teaching others is a big responsibility; it goes well beyond the things that we do day by day.

  2. So powerful! I have seen a couple of similar videos about bullying and kids with disabilities, and this one is just as amazing. My wheels are turning for a way to take this idea into my classroom without using the same topic.

  3. This video reminds me that everybody in their own walk of life has troubles or problems that may or may not be apparent. Students and families may be experiencing realities that we have never thought to imagine. It is important to practice empathy for all students, to remember that each has good within them!

  4. I think this video delivers the message that every person deserves the chance to create their own identity. As teachers, we must embrace differences and strive to create learning environments that allow each student to feel comfortable and flourish.
    What is a hero?
