Visual Dictionaries for Students

Are you using visual dictionaries with students? Find visual dictionaries to consider from this blog post, on the Free Teachnology For Teachers Blog post: "Five Free Visual Dictionaries and Thesauri for Students." Let us know if you plan to use any of the resources Richard lists in his blog post.

  1. A co-worker of mine sent out an email recently, looking for websites that act as kid-friendly dictionaries. Having her request in mind caused me read this blog post more carefully. The five sites that Richard Byrne links in his blog are definitely worth exploring. Yet as a second grade teacher, I don't feel that these sites would be the best resources for primary students. I actually think the Little Explorers English Picture Dictionary (http://www.enchantedlearning.com/Aisfor.shtml) is a more worthwhile tool for students in the early elementary grades.
