Even if your students are not blogging, they can still comment on other students' blogs. The Comments4Kids blog posts information about classes who are looking for others to write replies to blog posts.
The Comments4Kids would also be a good blog to follow in your Google Reader. William Chamberlain, a middle school teacher, maintains the blog and updates it often.
I think the idea behind this blog is great. Classes and students can go here to find others to connect with. In looking at this site I ventured to the Phoenix School's student blogs. They have 3 blogs split up by grade levels.
ReplyDeleteI decided to look at the K-2 blog because I am interested to see how blogging looks at such a young level. I was taken away by the power of feedback that blogging provides. For example, a student, Ella, posted a writing sample and within 4 days had received feedback from 4 different people. Some of the feedback was more specific than others, but it must be very moving for the student to hear back from others with their ideas and compliments.
