I've had many jobs in my life and put together many resumes but never anything like this. Since I'll be heading out to find a "real" job in the near future, this seems like it could be a good way to get someone's attention. Then again, it could be completely passed over for not being a "normal" resume. I've never used Prezi but it looks like a valuable and diverse tool. This presentation was enjoyable to read but it definitely took longer than it takes to read an average resume, which could be detract from it. This could be a great tool for someone who had made it to the second or third round of hiring, to really make themself stand out.
Since finding jobs in today's economy is not easy, it is so important to have an "edge." I think that this resume is a real attention grabber. I think that prospective employers would either love the fact that it's non-conventional, engaging, and visual, or they would really dislike it for the same reasons. To some people, being able to print something linear might be more attractive. In all, I think it's a risky move to use a Prezi as a resume format, although it'd make this candidate stand out for better or worse!
I came across Prezi when I first started my masters and being a very structured learner it was difficult for me to adjust to the way a Prezi presents information. Power Points worked so well for me due to the format being close to the way that natural think. However after switching to Prezi, which my students find more engaging, I have learned to love it. It does allow for a little more creativity and I love creating new paths the jump and zoom, and the students are more engaged. When I taught middle school last year the classes did some great presentations, and many like the structure of the Prezi format better than Power Point. I never thought of Prezi being used as a resume format, but then up until last year I was learning how incorporate it into the classroom. It is an interesting idea.
Your digital resume was interesting and made me want to read more and learn more about you. I think that it will help you in the future.
